Nov. 2 2:05 PM PT3:05 PM MT4:05 PM CT5:05 PM ET10:05 PM GMT6:05 AM 北京时间-Anderson completed just 6 of 17 passes for 76 yards and got intercepted twice in a 30-6 loss at Chicago on Sunday.
Analysis: This is the second time this season that Anderson has had a game with a passer rating under 20, and he was lifted with three minutes left in the game for Brady Quinn, the man he replaced in Week 3. Whether or not he retains the starting job, Anderson is having a disastrous season.
Oct. 28 1:53 PM PT2:53 PM MT3:53 PM CT4:53 PM ET9:53 PM GMT5:53 AM 北京时间-It seems Anderson has spent weeks under a metaphoric cloud. Since replacing Brady Quinn as Cleveland's starter in Week 3, Anderson has been awful. He's made bad throws, poor decisions, fumbled, stumbled and generally looked lost.
Analysis: A Pro Bowler in 2007, Anderson is currently the lowest-rated quarterback in the NFL with a 40.6 mark - the third-worst rating through seven weeks this decade. Only Ryan Leaf (34.5 in 2000) and Kerry Collins (37.5 in 2006) have started a season as poorly.
Oct. 26 11:31 AM PT12:31 PM MT1:31 PM CT2:31 PM ET7:31 PM GMT3:31 AM 北京时间-Mangini has no plans to bench Derek Anderson, the NFL's lowest-rated quarterback. He was pulled from a 31-3 loss to Green Bay after completing 12 of 29 passes for 99 yards and one interception.
Analysis: Mangini's decision is puzzling at best as Anderson has completed just 23 of 70 passes in the past three games and came out of Sunday's loss to Green Bay with an overall 40.6 rating - nearly seven points behind the second lowest QB, Oakland's JaMarcus Russell.
Oct. 19 9:59 AM PT10:59 AM MT11:59 AM CT12:59 PM ET5:59 PM GMT1:59 AM 北京时间-Anderson was 9 for 24 for 122 yards in Cleveland's 27-14 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Analysis: "I've got to be better," Anderson said. "I've got to give them better chances to catch it and be more precise with my throws." He's completed 11 of 41 passes in his last two games.
Oct. 12 10:22 AM PT11:22 AM MT12:22 PM CT1:22 PM ET6:22 PM GMT2:22 AM 北京时间-Anderson went 2 for 17 for 23 yards in Cleveland's 6-3 win over Buffalo on Sunday.
Analysis: The Browns became the first team since Cincinnati in October 2000 to win a game while completing only two passes. And it's not as if Cleveland was an offensive juggernaut entering the game. Their win over Buffalo marked the ninth time in 11 games that they've failed to register an offensive touchdown _ a stretch in which Cleveland's been outscored 250-86.
Oct. 5 2:38 PM PT3:38 PM MT4:38 PM CT5:38 PM ET10:38 PM GMT6:38 AM 北京时间-Anderson, making his first start since coach Eric Mangini benched Brady Quinn, completed 26 of 48 passes for 269 yards, threw a 2-yard TD pass to Steve Heiden and ran for a score in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: As usual Anderson had some bad moments. He threw an interception in the end zone with the Browns down 14-7, but later atoned for it with his TD run that tied it 14-all. "I was really happy with him," Mangini said of Anderson. "He made a lot of nice throws."
Sep. 30 11:58 AM PT12:58 PM MT1:58 PM CT2:58 PM ET7:58 PM GMT3:58 AM 北京时间-Anderson will replace Brady Quinn and start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday against Cincinnati.
Analysis: Coach Eric Mangini has decided to go with Anderson, a Pro Bowler in 2007, over Quinn, a former first-round draft pick who opened the season as Cleveland's starter, but was benched at halftime last Sunday in Baltimore. Mangini spent the entire training camp deciding on a quarterback before picking Quinn over Anderson. But Quinn threw an interception on the Browns' first possession Sunday, and Mangini benched him after just 10 quarters this season.
Sep. 28 12:08 PM PT1:08 PM MT2:08 PM CT3:08 PM ET8:08 PM GMT4:08 AM 北京时间-Anderson completed 11 of 19 passes for 92 yards and three interceptions in the Browns' 34-3 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.
Analysis: Anderson entered the game after starter Brady Quinn was benched for ineffectiveness. Neither quarterback is a good fantasy option.
Sep. 13 8:10 AM PT9:10 AM MT10:10 AM CT11:10 AM ET4:10 PM GMT12:10 AM 北京时间-Brady Quinn will start the Browns' season opener against the Viking on Sunday, and Anderson will be his backup.
Analysis: Quinn beat out Anderson in a summer-long competition, and was announced as Cleveland's starter an hour before gametime. Coach Eric Mangini told his QBs on Tuesday of his decision on a starter but refused to divulge his choice because he wanted to keep the Vikings guessing as they prepared their defensive game plan for Cleveland. Quinn had slightly better statistics than Anderson, a former Pro Bowl selection, during the preseason.
Sep. 9 8:21 AM PT9:21 AM MT10:21 AM CT11:21 AM ET4:21 PM GMT12:21 AM 北京时间-Browns coach Eric Mangini informed Anderson and Brady Quinn of his decision on a starting quarterback during a meeting on Tuesday night, and both players did their best to keep the secret as the team prepared for Sunday's opener against the Vikings.
Analysis: After handling a few awkward questions, Anderson, who met with reporters first on Wednesday, may have given away Mangini's choice when he said "the rest of us have to go about our regular preparations." Quinn only confirmed he and Anderson had met with Mangini. Quinn said the coach "hasn't told us anything about a final decision." Mangini feels keeping his starter a secret will give his team a competitive advantage.
Aug. 27 12:54 PM PT1:54 PM MT2:54 PM CT3:54 PM ET8:54 PM GMT4:54 AM 北京时间-Both Anderson and Brady Quinn will see time with the Browns' first team Saturday when they face Tennessee.
Analysis: Quinn and Anderson equally shared all the practice snaps throughout training camp. Quinn started and played well in the preseason opener against Green Bay, while Anderson's moment came last week against Detroit, when he led the offense to its first touchdown in seven games. Coach Eric Mangini plans to sit down with both quarterbacks Friday to inform them who will start.
Jul. 4 10:38 AM PT11:38 AM MT12:38 PM CT1:38 PM ET6:38 PM GMT2:38 AM 北京时间-Browns coach Eric Mangini says he will not decide on Brady Quinn or Anderson as Cleveland's starting quarterback until late in the preseason. Mangini said before Thursday's voluntary practice that he will take his time evaluating the two quarterbacks and wants to see how they play in preseason games before making his choice.
Analysis: Anderson was a Pro Bowl selection in 2007, but lost his job midway through last season to Quinn, the former Notre Dame star and first-round draft pick. Both Quinn (finger) and Anderson (knee) suffered season-ending injuries last season, when the Browns offense failed to score a touchdown in the club's final six games. Cleveland finished 4-12 and replaced coach Romeo Crennel with Mangini.
Mar. 24 1:23 PM PT2:23 PM MT3:23 PM CT4:23 PM ET9:23 PM GMT5:23 AM 北京时间-New Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini says neither Brady Quinn nor Derek Anderson has a hold on the quarterback job.
Analysis: Anderson, coming off a Pro Bowl season in 2007, opened last year as the starter. As the Browns struggled, he was benched for Quinn. Both quarterbacks subsequently were injured, and Mangini replaced Romeo Crennel as coach after Cleveland finished 4-12.
Feb. 20 3:11 PM PT4:11 PM MT5:11 PM CT6:11 PM ET11:11 PM GMT7:11 AM 北京时间-General manager George Kokinis said Friday that the Cleveland Browns are in no hurry to get rid of Anderson and were willing to let him battle Brady Quinn for the starting quarterback job.
Analysis: There has been speculation that the Browns wanted to get rid of Anderson because of his $5 million roster bonus, due next month. Neither Anderson nor Quinn finished last season because of injuries.
